Amy Hardberger is an attorney with extensive experience in water and energy law. She has worked on legal and policy initiatives related to the energy/water nexus as well as energy efficiency, shale gas development, and clean energy. She has also lectured on various water and energy topics around the world, including in training workshops on negotiating water agreements.

Ms. Hardberger is currently a visiting professor at Texas Tech University School of Law teaching Water Law, International Water Law, and Land Use Planning. Her academic writings have focused on international water law, the human right to water, and the ethic of water. She is also an attorney with the Texas Office of the Environmental Defense Fund, is a member of the bars of the State of Texas and the Western District of Texas, and is a registered professional geologist in Texas.

Ms. Hardberger holds a Bachelor degree in Geology from Earlham College, a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. Previously, she served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable William Wayne Justice of the Western District of Texas and worked as an environmental consultant on the remediation of closed Air Force bases around the United States.
